The Certification Program

NORA offers 3 Main Programs- Bronze, Silver, and Gold

1. Bronze Certification is designed for beginner's to learn and execute fundamental skills. This certification is the first step toward a rewarding career as an Oilheat Service Technician.

2. Silver Certification is technical competence established through training, a test and field experience.  

3. Gold Certification is established through previous participation in the Silver Certification program with additional competency in energy efficiency.

Once you become a NORA Silver or Gold Certified Service Technician you must complete 24 hours of continuing education (CEUs) every five years to maintain accreditation. If for some these requirements are not met, the certification will become inactive until the CEU’s are completed. Once the CEU’s are completed, the certification will be reinstated for another five year period.

     There are two ways to earn CEUs:

  1. Watching NORA's Training Videos then taking an online quizzes at noraed.org
  2. Attending NORA approved Classes or Seminars

More Programs 

  • Tank Certification educates Oilheat technicians to perform the proper tank maintenance and inspection. 
  • Static Testing Program teaches the proper procedure of testing an underground tank.
  • Continuing Educations (CEUs) courses ensure the best technical performance throughout the Oilheat industry. Even if you are not enrolled in the certification program, CEU classes sharpen your skills.
